My review
Level of familiarity before listening
I’ve never listened to this record before. I am familiar with some of the artists, but I don’t think I’ll recognize any of the songs.
What I expected
Memphis blues.
What it was actually like
Much like Nothin’ But The Blues by Johnny Winter that I reviewed yesterday, this was fine and not unenjoyable at all to blast on my sound system, but nothing about it really stood out and grabbed my attention as great.
All of the songs were in a slow blues style, with one vocalist, drums, harmonica and a (minimally amplified) guitar, and they were all good.
Grade
3/5: interesting, but not for me
